Ekklesiast - Russian melodic doom band
Band History:
Russian band was formed in 1994 in Veliky Novgorod by Alexandr Senin - guitar, vocal and Artyom Dolina - bass. Later Alex Alexandrov (drums) has joined to original line -up. The basic of the music was heavy, melancholic DOOM metal with original melodic parts and philosophical-entity lyrics of the native language.
1995. Ekklesiast had done a first successful performances at the rock - festivals in Novgorod after the several months of rehearsing. It gave the band a certain popularity among the students.
1996-1997. There were an intensive rehearsal work, live activity, accumulation of a musical material, growth of creative and technical abilities of the musicians.
1998. Music has became more complicated since. All these results had accumulated in the debut promo-album "Touch of Snowstorm".
EKKLESIAST was working with the conceptual sound, so Alex Nekrasov (keys) joined to the band, who worked in "Waw" band earlier.
1999. The single "Oblivion" from a debut album was realised by a new line-up. The sound became more sated and atmospheric. Alex Nekrasov has left the band by the end of 1999. So, the original line-up has kept since.
2000. This year became more productive for the band. The band made much local live gigs, prepared a new music material for the record.
2001. In January the band entered to the studio for recording of the new promo-album.
2001. May 5. The band presentated the new album "... when dead boughs will awake from the dreams ", which was released by self production. This work more multiplane, more complex than previous "Touch of Snowstorm".
2002. With occurrence in mass media of the reviews about last album, there is a certain hope of deal contract with one of a known domestic record company. Despite the all complexities with search of record label, the band involves in creative process and actively prepares a new musical material.
In the beginning of 2003, band started to play with the new drums player. It takes more time for completing the new music material. Record session will start in april, may.
In Jànuary, 2004 band introduces the new album "Cold".
