Infinite Rapture are a rock/metal band influenced mostly by heavy metal/rock in the 1980s, such as Guns 'N' Roses or Iron Maiden. However, there are also strong modern influences, such as Velvet Revolver or Steel Dragon.
Do you play live?
Of course we play live, we're f***ing rock 'n' roll. Our list of venues include Wembley Rugby Club and the London Borderline.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
More people hear our music- works for us.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If they were willing to do some things our way.
Band History:
The seeds of the band were first sown when Iain and Shane decided to do something more serious with their Friday night jam project. They formed a band and performed their first gig at a Charity Fundraiser at Northwood school, with a five-song set of cover versions. There was no permenant vocalist, but volunteers stepped up for each song. Joe Samson sung "The Wicker Man" for the band, and the chemistry was obvious- he was appointed the bands permenant singer.
However, after this gig they were in need of a bass player. Matt had been playing guitar for some time now, but when asked, he was happy to cast aside his plectrum and play bass. No sooner had the band been finally completed than their rythym guitarist left due to musical differences. So, when Martin was offered the position, he accepted immediately.
The band had never been happier with any other lineup, and since Martin joining they performed at several locations such as The Woodman or Northwood School, but most notably Wembley Rugby Club, where the gig was sold out to twice it's official capacity and people broke open the gates to get in.
All seemed like nothing could go wrong. However, after the fourth gig at Brigade Hall in Harrow, Joe lost all his self-confidence and left the band. After almost four months of searching for a new vocalist, we auditioned one Sam Pereria. His great rendition of Brownstone almost clinched his spot, but when he performed our own "Equilibrium" we knew he was right.
We have now started giging with Sam and have big plans for the future.
