Phillip's musical goals are to write the songs (guitar, lyrics, and melodies), form a band that fits the music, and let the band do the performing. He has no desire to personally present his music for various reasons. He just likes to write music and know that someone out there likes it. Phillip feels he would be thoroughly pleased to be "merely a songwriter". Of course, whatever opportunities present themselves, sign him up!
Why this name?
It's my name!
Do you play live?
When I was a teen I played at some churches, but since I'm not into church anymore, venues aren't as easy to get into. I did karioke (spelling?) once and it was well received (does that count?).
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it way easier for people to find you. For musicians to network, to learn, to grow. It makes it a lot easier all around.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Who wouldn't!?
Band History:
I started playing guitar at 16 and formed a band with a friend. That lasted about 2 years. I tried forming a few other bands but it's hard to do in a town with only 10,000 people. I took music theory in high school which greatly improved my songwriting. I've been "solo" since about 1998.
