Thanks for checking out STAT1STICK. I am a one man Alternative Metal project. I call it a project because you usually need 3 or more people in it to be considered a band. I've gone through a lot of different musical styles but it wasn't until just recently that I decided on just one. I picked Industrial Metal because it's the one I've found that doesn't get boring after long periods of time. Anyway... Feel free to listen to my music and share it with your firends. Enjoy!
Why this name?
You know... I really don't know why. I was just brainstorming and it was the one that sounded the best. Since I like to keep my options open, I'm always trying to come up with something new. I have about 15 other names that I'm still going over in my head.
Do you play live?
I actually don't play live. It would be almost impossible because there would only be one person on stage and I think that would be really boring to watch. However, I would enjoy being on stage again. I could do something like early Nine Inch Nails where I record the album and then hire people to play my songs live. I've actually been thinking about that a lot, lately.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The music industry is always changing. I just think that it's just turning around. Back in the old days, musicians would play for people and depending on how good they were, people would pay them (or wouldn't). I think it's coming down to that again. Artists will get paid based on their quality. The mp3 is a touchy subject. A lot of unsigned bands depend on them to let people know they exist. "Professional" bands are more against them because they could leave them empty handed. Honestly, though... I think that mp3 downloads should be registered and awards should be given on what's being downloaded the most...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Absolutely.
Band History:
I've been making music for around 7 years. I've been in a few bands in the past but I really didn't like not having control over what I sounded like. I take my music seriously... I won't stand for anyone trying to bring me down.
Your influences?
I really love the style of Nine Inch Nails. More specifically, Trent Reznor. I also like the work of Danny Lohner. I used to be into Marilyn Manson but I really don't like the direction he has taken lately. I've been getting into Tool and A Perfect Circle, too. Disturbed has lent a hand to my creations as well. There are also some influences from The Union Underground, too.
Favorite spot?
I dunno... Any place with a guitar, keyboard or a video game.
Equipment used:
I mainly use Digitech guitar processors. I use Fernendes guitars exclusively. For my synths I use Absynth 3 and my Casio WK3000. I use an Oktava MK-319 for my vocals. Adobe Audition for recording.
