I grew up in a musical family. Mom and dad had four boys, then me. Three of us learned to harmonize on most songs. We listened to the radio and learned from Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Tennessee Ernie Ford, and all the opry stars back then. In my later years, I discovered TRACY NELSON AND EMMYLOU HARRIS, my greatest inspirations to date. I have been learning song-writing for a few years now, always looking for the words and melody that will impress me, I figure if I like them, the people I care about will like them. I've never been interested in impressing the masses with my song writing. Some of the greatest critics I know are not far away from me.
I love harmonies, lean toward songs about love, and it is important to me that words I sing can be heard and understood. If you can't hear and understand the vocals, why have them?
You won't find busy production here, just simple songs from a simple lady.

Why this name?
It's just my name. Mom did it. After naming four boys, she wanted something a bit different.
Do you play live?
But, of course, we all play live. I'm presently rehearsing with some of the best musicians my town has to offer. We all have at least a few grey hairs. Love that trained, exercised and experienced sound!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I can send an Mp3 anywhere, to anyone. Holy Moley, that is just wonderful!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not today.

BANDANNA: country reggae..can you imagine? some blues, musical stew.
SWINGFIELD: club work, six nights a week for three years, you get some practice that way folks!
CELEBRATED RENAISSANCE BAND REUNION: old time music.
RIVER COWBOY TOUR: if it sounds good, play it.
MERE MORTALS: Great guys, great music. A fine way to move through my autumn.

Your influences?
Musical life story tellers. First and foremost Gene Thomas. Dolly, Willie, Nancy Griffith. Tracy Nelson's vocal depth,Bonnie Raitt's soul, Emmylou's angelic tones, Vern Gosdin's golden throat. Late Steve Goodman's everything. My son's belief in HIS music, and the fact that the first girl singer he heard was me, and he still became a musician!
Favorite spot?
Missouri, is my home. I like to be where ever there is good music.
Equipment used:
Just my voice, words, Laravee acoustic guitar, a computer, Adobe Audition, and my son's expertise and patience.
Anything else...?
As long as you can create music for folks to enjoy, DO IT! My soundclick family is so instrumental to my musical well being. Hayley Oliver, Gene Thomas, Shannon Morris,Michael Duran, Russ Deane, Werner,Jon Roland just to name a few. They make my day when I receive messages from them. Thanks guys!
