We are a band, we have fans, we love fans and they love us. Do you love us?
Why this name?
It was on a friday morning that the Christ experienced His passion. Passion began it's walk with this band. A group individual musicians then emerged as a movement inspired by the mourning of one man.
Do you play live?
WE love to play live. From the beaches of Tampa, St Petersburg, and Orlando to the mountains of St. Louis. Then everywhere in between is Pittsburgh, Cleveland and beyond.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Our calling is to reach people. To communicate and be communicated to. bring on the cyberspace.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, but only if they asked very nicely.
Band History:
In the fall of 2002 began the journey that is Friday Mourning. Through many musicians and heartaches the band humbly came to fruition, stopping at every rest area along the way. What was a hobby of sorts quickly became a way of life in a matter of months.
Forsaking all, imbued with a calling, the five member band decided to start walking with thumbs raised high in the air. It was not long after, that national acts such as Caeli Rain, SonicFlood, and Switchfoot were stopping along the roadside to play a show with this up-and-coming band.
It was in east Ohio, on the hilltop known as Franciscan University that Friday Mourning began to flourish. From there it was out to Steubenville, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, across central Florida, and even to the Midwest; long live St. Louis Missouri!
Since its inception the band has enjoyed countless blessings, a broken down van, lots of debt, sleep deprivation, but most of all its incredible fans. Regardless of where the band is, it seems the crowds are always the main attraction. Their excitement is only surpassed by their involvement in the performance itself.
Shortly after coming together, the band was fortunate enough to record their first five song EP; "not there yet." With a motivational demeanor, this album spoke of hopes and dreams; of failures and triumphs.
Now enters the newest project, “make it your own." This project for the band is, “our birthday or our final farewell," said front man Jim Wockenfuss As of now only parts of this album are available for pre-release and are already catching the ears of critics all over. This album, currently in the works, is due for release in early 2006.
With a sound that echo’s musical influences, ranging from U2, Third Day, Relient K, and Jimmy Eat World, to Coheed and Cambria, Live, and BNL, this band gives an eclectic taste to an ever-wanting music industry. While the sound of this band can be considered sympathetic to any one of their influences, the attentive ear is sure to notice a whole new genre emerging in the sound that is Friday Mourning.

Your influences?
We love Coheed and Relient K. On the other hand we have been compared to the likes of Live, BNL, and Third Day. Of course, it is our only ambition to be U2 or Coldplay, We're not into reinventing the wheel.
