This site carries examples of my recording work over the last 40 years. I did my first professional recording in my teens and I have been doing demos of one sort or another ever since. I now have my own 24 track digital recording studio.
Why this name?
Born with it!
Do you play live?
Only once, I 'guested' for a couple of Stones numbers with the works band.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Completely. The download charts prove that.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No, but I might offer one to an up and coming band.
Band History:
I started recording on reel to reel tape in mono in the 1960s, later graduating to overdubs (still in mono) then to 4 track and lastly 8 track tape in the early 90s. In this period I recorded demos exclusively on location, loading the kit into the car, setting up at the venue, recording, putting it all back in the car, home again, unload, set up and ready for mixdown. No wonder I have back trouble.

Five years ago I took early retirement and have managed to build myself a permanent studio based in a 24ft by 12ft brick outbuilding.
Your influences?
Just about anything from the 60s.
Favorite spot?
Palo Alto
Equipment used:
AKAI DPS24 and DPS16 digital recorders, Fostex R8 8 track analog reel to reel tape recorder, three Tascam 34 reel to reels, a couple of Revox A77s, a couple of Ferrographs and a Brenell reel to reel, AT4041 (x2), AKG D190, Grampian GR2 and Reslo ribbon mics, mic pres by TL Audio and dbx, Yamaha guitar and keyboards, cheap drum kit, cheap acoustic guitar and a wonderfull sounding Harmonium I picked up at a local auction.
Anything else...?
The last three years has been spent mainly producing three albums for my neighbour Bob Wright who is a country and western singer/songwriter.
