The Tifft Project is an on-going process of professionally recording the music of Mike and Martha Tifft. As enough songs are professionally recorded, full albums will be released.

The Tifft Project is a studio project and the songs that get posted here will not be performed by us personally, with the exception of my wife, who will be adding her vocals on her compositions. Otherwise, all instrumentation and vocals will be handled by studio musicians. In case you're wondering, I tried adding my vocals to my songs and they just didn't turn out to my satisfaction.

However, all the songs are written by us (both lyrics and music)

There are a some older songs, which came from an album I did called "A Brand New Start." Those song ARE actually me doing both the singing and guitar playing. But I will mostly likely create a separate page, under the name Mike Tifft if and when I decide to post those songs.

Why this name?
My wife and I are both musicians and we both write songs. I write most of them, but she does some as well and so rather than call it by either one of our first names, we are calling it by the name we both share.
Do you play live?
I have played live quite a bit over the years, but lately we play mostly in our home church. One of my biggest concerts was on the North Dakota State Capitol grounds.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It puts a lot more power and control in the hands of musicians. It gives them much more of a hand in guiding their own careers.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, under the right circumstances.
Band History:
My wife and I have been married for over thirteen years. During that time we have shared the desire to see our music be the best it can be and to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone who has an ear to hear.

Your influences?
Personally, I have been greatly influenced by Petra, Keith Green, Don Francisco and the Christian music of Bob Dylan. Although, the music I write does not really sound like any of them. Maybe somewhat like Petra, but not exactly.
Favorite spot?
Bismarck, ND. My hometown.
Equipment used:
Again, this is a studio project, so all I'm using is my guitar and a pencil and paper.
Anything else...?
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Live it, learn it, breed it.
