I am a solo composer/instrumentalist working out of a self-built "Project Studio" in my home. Though I often play acoustic instruments, everything I do goes through my computer DAW. I am very ecclectic in musical taste and my compositons vary greatly depending on subject. I like to think of myself as a musical character-actor, adapting as needed to make my statment.
Do you play live?
I have played in various bands in the past and, for awhile, performed as solo acoutic guitarist in the CA bay area. My favorite performance memories are with the "Acoutic Cafe" program that I ran for three years at LaBodega in San Francisco.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Internet/mp3 is great for "unknown" atists who primarily just want to get their music heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure.
Your influences?
I love rich chords and unusual song structure. I try to make every note count and labor a long time over small things. My musical influences are quite varied, but here's some FAVs.
- Stravinsky.
- Hendrix.
- Debussy.
- Coltrane.
- Nilsson.
- Miles.
- Beatles.
Favorite spot?
Delphi, O'conner's Pass, Florence... Alameda is also pretty cool!
