Adverse is an emcee/producer from Essex.
I try to use hip-hop as a self-expressive tool and as a creative release. I've been listening to hip-hop since I was six years old (i'm now twenty-four!) and love the culture and all of its elements. I try to rap about what I know about, and try not to be false or portray an image which isn't me. Everything I rap about I have either experienced first hand or heard about from friends etc, but sometimes i just like bugging out and going on an late eighties braggadocious tip. I rap for fun, not for food. I do it for the love and not for any gain, just wanna put stuff out that people feel. Peace.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No, unless i had complete creative control (that's never gonna happen, so no).
Your influences?
Everything: Blacksheep, De La Soul, MF Doom, Madlib, Mr. Lif, Edan, Melle Mel, Percee P, Gil Scott-Heron, Common, Marvin Gaye, Rakim, The Zombies, Sixtoo Rodriguez, Kool G Rap, Insight, Murs, Jehst. Any good hip-hop ever made I've got, that goes for most Soul, Jazz, Funk etc too.
