Myke, Mandy and Rachel all had different ideas in mind for the band name. In the end, they each contributed one word.

That night back in 2002 was pretty special.

Hairy Movie Thong formed in 2002 for one long night of revolutionary acoustic-bassoon-jam rock, the result of which was a single song, deemed perfect in it's form and execution. A shining example of the inimicable magic of spontaneous collaboration.

The next morning they disbanded, happy and safe in the knowledge that they had made a beautiful mark in the history of acoustic-bassoon-jam rock.
