Uly Millan:

Studied composition and arranging at The Maria Eugenia School of Music in Caracas, Venezuela and studied cello at the school of the Valentia Symphonic Orchestra, Valentia, Venezuela. Uly is a seasoned session player who has recorded for CBS-Columbia of Venezuela, Sonographica, and Sonorodven record labels. Among his credits are several albums he recorded with the top selling pop group, Pentagono, which produced several number one hits as well as three nationwide tours, performing to audiences of 40,000 people.
Since moving to the states in 1990, Uly has studied with such New York guitar gurus as Tania Maria and Alex Adrian. Last year, he wrote, recorded, and produced the soundtrack for the film "Laura". In addition to running his own HEY STUDIO in Ossining, New York, Uly currently works as a session player, producer, and teacher throughout the New York tri-state area.

Born John Patrick Elsasser March 21, 1958 in a small upstate Town Mahopac, NY John was born the youngest of Robert J and Marion E Elsassers 4 children John was educated his first 8 years in a Catholic elementary school St. John The Evangelist Mahopac N.Y., then 4 years public High School at Mahopac High School majoring in Music, then 2 years of Coledge at Westchester Community Coledge majoring in science and minoring in Voice training. John began experimenting with music at age six when he began playing a 4 string banjo uke and would play songs such as "5 foot 2" and "My little Mandee" then at age 9 John picked up a six string electric and began self teaching then onto playing in local rock bands as a rythym guitarist. At age 14 John was given a 1956 Guild 12 string F212 acoustic Guitar from family friend Steve Ross and began his song writing journey. John progressed to recording and producing his music. Back in 1975 he produced "Lucky Lady" his first produced composition. John entered the USAF in 1979 and continued playing and performing in the USAF and won awards and recognitions for his compositions.
After discharge from the USAF John continued wrighting and performing Music and toured with local bands in the mid 1980s in 1993 John suffered a major spinal injury and 2 major spinal surgerys was not able to play or perform for several years then further medical complications and abdominal surgery's postphoned his performing career. After recovering from spinal surgery in 1998 John
returned to the studio and recorded a single "Meet Your Maker" produced originally as a ruff mix recording in 1998 and began writng once again. John Began Recording his current CD project "Learn to Rock N Roll" in July 2001 at Avalon Recording in Port Saint Lucie Florida and then rejoined in 2006 with his NY Producer Uly Millan at Hey Studios NY and produced the final production of Learn To Rock N Roll. "Learn To Rock N Roll" is John's latest rock music project fusing electric guitar and acoustic guitar together into a blended rock sound that incoporates acoustic & electric guitars blended into melodic expressions.



How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I believe it allows artists to be more available publicly, and provides artists exposure and a venue they may never obtain or be able to obtain otherwise, with venues such as indie radio stations artists can obtain air play otherwise unavalble in the past
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I have been Writing & arranging music and performing rock & acoustic music live in NY, Florida,Virginia,Boston and in studios since 1969.
Music is my passion, my art,my God given gift.
