If you're a fan of CELTIC, CLASSICAL, WORLD, or FUNNY music*,
you've come to the right place.
* term used rather loosely at times
Hello, I'm Paula Lynch. If you've never heard of me, you've been lucky.
But since you're here now (poor bastard)...
... have a seat in The Comfy Chair and brace yourself for the slaughter of Celtic, Classical, World, and Silly music. On my SoundClick music page you may hear a mangled Irish tune, Bach and Pachelbel's Canon played (badly) on electric guitars, the sordid tale of the Chicken Train, and a rude Christmas tune, for starters. A pretty tune has been known to slip in through the cat door on occasion as well. My songs are available for download here, with more on Lulu.com. Sometimes my fist unclenches and I offer free downloads here as well.
I also promote others' music in the above-mentioned genres from my website, www.armydiller.com, and from my SoundClick stations:
SOUNDCLICK STATIONS (Streams SoundClick artists only) | ARMYDILLER.COM (Streams music from all over the web) | DESCRIPTION
| The Best of SoundClick: CELTIC | Celtic Music on Armydiller.com | Traditional, Celtic rock, drinking songs. | |
| The Best of SoundClick: WORLD | World Music on Armydiller.com | Music from around the world, geared to the Western listener. | |
| The Best of SoundClick: FUNNY/COMEDY | Funny Music on Armydiller.com | Funny, bizarre, twisted, silly, stupid. | |
N/A | Classics, originals, traditional, crossover, unusual.
N/A | When SoundClickers get a case of the sillies. |
You may submit music in the above genres for my SoundClick stations. If you are a SoundClick premium subscriber, I can also accept submissions for the Armydiller.com music pages (so I can deep-link). They're updated frequently*, and people even visit them! Woo!
(And since you asked, my nickname and website namesake, Armydiller, comes from the Texan for 'armadillo'. Yeehaw.)
Thanks for popping in.
Why this name?
Picked it randomly from the phone book.
Do you play live?
Nope. I mostly play dead.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The interwebby thingo has made it easy to pirate my rubbish. Tchyuh!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Surely you jest.
Band History:
I and my twin sister Stephanie Polek grew up in Texas and Scotland -- true! We got into creating music on traditional instruments, moved on to creating digitally on the computer as well. My Celtic music is often based around original compositions by Stephanie. She lives in New York and I live in California. If she weren't such a lazy ass, we'd do more cross-country collabs. Heh.
Your influences?
Celtic traditional like Clannad, Celtic rock like Runrig, world & classical rock like Vanessa-Mae. Silly stuff like Weird Al Yankovic & Ray Stevens.
Favorite spot?
There's one on my bum I'm rather fond of. I call it Nigel. (sorry)
Equipment used:
Digital Orchestrator Pro and SoundFonts backed up by traditional instruments for arrangement, MusicMatch to convert to MP3 format, Windows XP to bugger the lot.
Anything else...?
Thank God for Photoshop. (Trivia: count the cliches in my photo! Brick wall, half face, Eye Of Intensity, etc...)
