I'm Benjamin Leon Laudenbach and I go by Trace, because 'Ben Laudenbach doesn't roll off the f***in' tongue'. I thought of the name, liked it, and went from there. I'm from St. Cloud, Minnesota or "Cloud City". I try to be as creative as I can lyrically to entertain and get my thoughts and true feelings out because usually I'm just the goofy kid. My music I take seriously, it's something that comes from the heart. I do this music because it's in me and to withhold it from people hearing it because of fear of failure or image or how people might perceive me has only kept me boxed in. I've finally got my confidence up and now I'm letting everyone know how SICK I really am haha. I'm not a gangsta, I'm not trying to be anything but me and make the best music that I can. Image and perception is everything but in my case, people look at me and discredit me before I even open my mouth. All you need to do is listen, and you'll see how natural it is. I'm Trace and 'I'm harder then a midget lookin' at a ladder'!
Band History:
I started rapping as something to do in 2004 and I haven't really stopped since then. I'm not necessarily looking for fame, looking to perform any of my songs in front of people, I just want people to listen to what I record, ride around in their car with it. I just want to be respected for what I do and people to enjoy what I make.
Your influences?
Music is an influence, although right now the hip-hop industry is in a major downcycle. I respect and continually learn my trade from emcees like Nas, 2Pac, Jay-Z, Biggie, Royce Da 5'9", Eminem, Ludacris, Common, Joe Budden, and I'm feeling Drake and Wale right now.
