I'm a solo artist first off. I have been rapping for the past 3 years, and I put out a demo at Grand Master Studios in South Bend, IN. I have done numerous shows in the Southwestern MI area, and I also did a show in Indianapolis at the Mirat Center for the Toughman competition.
Why this name?
Well...People have always called me crazy, and the first letter of my name starts with J, so there ya go...
Do you play live?
Yes. Wherever I can. I absolutely love it. The most special moments to me are when I can tell the crowd is really getting into it. I love the emotions on their faces when they see that a 17 year old white boy really CAN rap ;)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet gives artists a chance to really get out there and be heard. Before the internet, you were lucky to get signed in a big city, and it was a god-given gift if you were signed in a small town.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Hell yes!!!
Your influences?
I am influenced by any kind of music. From Hip Hop, to Orchestra, to Trance, and R&B. If I hear something I like, I won't exactly duplicate it, (I think it's wrong to cop other people's sh*** anyway), but I'll take what I like, customize it, and then add my own flava to it.
Favorite spot?
Chicago a.k.a. Chitown
Equipment used:
FL studio, a condenser mic, preamp, speakers, and my computer. I will be getting a workstation pretty soon. (just gotta save up the green if ya know what I mean.)
Anything else...?
Basically, I'm a small town kid, just trying to make my way in the world of music. I make my own beats (most of the time, unless someone hooks me up with somethin' raw), I write my own lyrics, and I mix everything myself. It's very hard to find people in the industry that can help me (especially in the remote area of Southwest MI.) I just hope people can hear what I have to say through this site.
