Michael Scherer is a senior at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. God has blessed him greatly with musical diversity, and he is fluent in many musical genres. He plans on going into full time ministry, but is focused on his musical endeavors at this time. He is the youth minister at United Fellowship Ministries in Decatur, Illinois, under the direction of Apostle William and Lady Donna Rogers.
Michael is in the process of working on 3 cd's that will all be finished by the end of this school year. He is writing all of the music, lyrics, producing, and mixing them all himself in the studio in his house under the supervision of Dream Vision Productions. All three albums are yet to be titled.
His first cd to be released this year is a gospel hip-hop album which demonstrates Michael's lyrical abilities while creating fresh musical ideas that can be heard on the tracks. His diverse style genres are very present on this album. He crosses genres of rock, movie theme music, electronic, and worship music, and mixes these styles with hip-hop beats to create a fusion sound that is guaranteed to please the ears of the listeners.
His second cd that will also be released this year is an all original set of jazz music crossing between smooth jazz, funk, hip-hop, and contemporary jazz. He has been very blessed to have many well known and up an coming musicians record on some of these tracks. This instrumental cd will keep your head bobbin to the phat grooves while showcasing Michael's intellectual musical side through his piano, trombone and electronic programming performances.
Mark your calendars everyone. Michael will be doing a live recording on March 30th at Millikin University for his third project. This event is gonna be off the chain! This event is going to be on such a scale not achieved by many artists in the industry today. He will be performing all original praise and worship music on a level like Israel Houghton, Kirk Franklin and Tonex. The instrumentation for this performance will be: drums, bass, keyboards, organ, guitar, full horn section, 6-7 main vocals, and guest appearances by....the children's choir from United Fellowship, possible adult choir, possible guest singers, and dancers who will be dancing to very tight and freshly choreographed routines during the concert. All of you are invited to attend. Seating is limited however. The maximum seating will be between 400-500 chairs. So come out and support this amazing live recording that will be taking place Thursday night on March 30th!
Keep checkin in with Michael to see how the progress is coming on his albums. He would greatly appreciate your support by purchasing these cd's once they are released. He is in the process of setting up promotional concerts to promote the cd's.
