Collusion is a Majestic Hip Hop artist who was discovered in 2000 by Max A Million ("Sexual Healing" Remix featuring Shaggy, "Fat Boy").
Why this name?
I was studying law, trying to get back on track after dropping out of high school and being homeless. I came across the word "collusion" meaning "conspiracy to commit a crime" and it kinda stuck to me.
Do you play live?
I used to perform daily while walking the streets with my boy. Most of the songs I performed were depressing because we were homeless during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet allows artists that have no way of getting distribution be heard by a worldwide audience. This is why my business partner started the company CDARMY.com
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would love to. I have had major label interest in the past but it has never gone anywhere.
Band History:
Collusion is a Majestic Hip Hop artist who was discovered in 2000 by Max A Million ("Sexual Healing" Remix featuring Shaggy, "Fat Boy"). While Max A Million was on tour during 2001-2002, Collusion became homeless and signed into P.A.D.S. homeless shelter in Chicago Heights, IL. While in the shelter Collusion wrote the hit single "Ride til' the anger dies" which later featured Max A Million. "Ride til' the anger dies currently has 3 different versions, all of which cannot escape from your head. In 2002, Collusion meet his business partner who later launched CDARMY.com which is currently over 500 members strong and growing daily. Collusion is currently featured on a recently released album titled "Survivin" on the first song which holds the same title. "Survivin" is about and dedicated to the homeless and how they are forced to live their lives.
Your influences?
I have had many influences. At first, when I started writing at age 13 I was mainly into gangster rap and artists like Spice 1 and Ghetto Mafia. As I evolved my songs started to carry a melody as I was listening to artists like Goodie Mob, Twista, Bone Thugs & Harmony, etc..
Favorite spot?
I love my home spot Chicago Heights aka Chi Heights also known as the land of Capone.
Equipment used:
I produce alot of my own music and I use anything from a radioshack general midi hooked up to a computer with Cakewalk Pro Audio, or a Korg Triton 88 Key Studio.
Anything else...?
Currently seeking collaborations with great bands and artists, producers, and of course a record deal with Arista, Sony, Universal, or somebody!!
