I've always dabbled in songwriting and recently started messing about with home studio software - my stuff is varied and wide ranging from guitar based singer songwriter stuff to ambient chill out tracks etc.
Why this name?
It's my name . . .
Do you play live?
Not as much as I used to, have played cafe's, festivals, open mike nights etc. I love live performance, expecially when backed by decent musicians . .
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has democraitised music making - it gives everyone the chance to put their stuff out there .. .
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
As if! If Sony offered me some sort of deal (in my dreams) I might consider it - otherwise, I'm happy if one or two people get something from what I've done . . .
Your influences?
Many, from Peter Gabriel & Bowie to Lemon Jelly and Mew - and still counting . . .
Favorite spot?
St Ives, Cornwall
Equipment used:
FLStudio, various soft synths, especially free one's - Crystal is amazing - I have a Korg NSR5 sound module but I'm more and more leaning towards software - oh, and acoustic guitar and piano of course
Anything else...?
I'm a University Chaplain (vicar) and increasingly I'm experimenting with music as an expression of deeper issues and a way into reflection and meditation - I still like to kick off with the occassional rock ballad too though! ;0)
