I look in the mirror and I see this gray haired man looking back who needs to lose some weight and I think, "Wait that's ME!!" I don't feel older, but I've had 58 wonderful years! My passion now is songwriting and reading Christian books. Yet, there is this restlessness in me that tells me God is not finished with me yet. The gifts He gave me are still "in there." The hardest lesson to learn is to "wait on the Lord." Man, I have a hard time with that one!!!

I write and perform a variety of music, but I especially love to write praise and worship songs...something that has eternal value!
Why this name?
I was slapped with it when I came into this world.
Do you play live?
Yes...I led praise and worship at my church for almost 24 years! Special moments would be leading praise and worship at the Billy Graham Training Center...and winning second place in CBN's National Songwriting Conference, being invited to The White House to play and sing, and getting to play for one of my idols growing up, Mr. Cliff Barrows, of The Billy Graham Team.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It opens it up and lets more people with passion and talent get "through" to be heard. There are a ton of people who have the talent and the passion to succeed, but haven't had a break.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'd like to get my songs out there and have them recorded by people who could do a better job with them than me. That's the frustrating part. But yes, I don't know if I would be "marketable" but I'd love the opportunity.
Your influences?
My musical influences growing up were artists like Ray Charles, Dionne Warwick, Elvis, Frank Sinatra...(Well...I am over 50!!) And I loved anything Mahalia Jackson sang!
Favorite spot?
New York City!! I've only been three times, but had a ball each time!
Equipment used:
I am a Korg and Alesis user!!
Anything else...?
I've come to the stage of my life where I've tried to beat all the doors down and tried every gimmick in the book. I've read the "how to" books, and listened to the tapes. You name it. I'm now in the phase of my life where I still believe for the impossible, but I'm content to use my "gifts" to bless the people around me or wherever the Lord sends me. Bottom line is a love to write songs and I love to play and sing. I'm not as good as a lot of people out there...but I do okay!! My objective is to listen for "that still small voice and to act on what He tells me to do!
