I have been involved in a number of collaboration projects over the years as well as solo projects.

I produce anything from experimental electronica and film scores to hard trance and funky house.

Most of what you'll hear here is my less commercial work - the scores and electronica - since that's what I enjoy the most.

Having grown up listening to alternative artists such as Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream etc, these influences are often apparent in my work.
Why this name?
Full name = J A B Walker

You work it out..........
Do you play live?
I have played live in previous bands but to be perfectly frank, I've never enjoyed being on stage as much as being behind the scenes.

I'm just not really able to become that alter-ego.

My real ego is difficult to cope with as it is without adding alternative personas to the mix...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
As a platform for unsigned artists to get themselves heard by more than just close friends/relatives without endless low or un-paid tours, the internet is clearly an invaluable resource.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the terms were favourable...the problem with major labels is that until/unless you start making them some serious money, they have the power to call the shots both creatively and financially.

The problem with smaller independent labels is that they have to be on the ball in terms of scouting for marketable artists in order to simply stay financially afloat.

"Making it" relies on a great number of factors working together...

Your influences?
as above - I grew up with electronica artists such as Jarre, Vangelis and Tangerine Dream.

If the truth be told, what got me into music was commodore 64 game music. I loved some of the tunes produced by such artists as Rob Hubbard, Martin Galway, Ben Dagliesh and Jeroen Tel.

The things these guys could with just 3 channels of sound were incredible.

I recommend to anyone who is into electronic music, that they download a program called 'SIDPLAY' and visit this site to download all of the available C64 tracks - www.hvsc.c64.org/
