“These guys are heavy. They have a wicked live show backed up by beats like I’ve never heard before,”. Blade. Former Sony recording artist and legend of UK’s hip hop scene.

Swampfoot are a two-pronged rap and dance crossover act straight from Lincoln. They represent a dynamic cross between the driving beats and vocal gymnastics of hip hop, the groove orientated ambience of drum n bass, and the straight impact of live instruments.

On record, the music is based around the talents of MC Longusto and DJ Weaver, long time partners and stalwarts of rap and electronica in the UK’s underground scenes. The Weaver is a drum n bass producer of ten years experience and a man with an unquestionable ear for excellence in electronic music.

Credited with releases on Flex, Rinse Out and Hardleaders, he has several classic tracks to his name including Freaks 2000 and Satellites.

This love of chunky beats and live or ambient based hooks gives the Swampfoot output an unmistakeable flavour which transcends the usually staid and overused standards of both UK and US rap music.

Longusto is one of the best and brightest MC’s in Britain. Combining individualistic delivery and introspective or party styley lyrics, his rhymes are an instant winner with hip hop heads and more conventionally minded listeners alike, and have earned him accolades from some of the most respected names in the UK’s rap business. Outside of Swampfoot, Longusto works with Tom Caruana’s Boilerroom Collective, and up and coming names such as Elemental (The Menagerie).

With this backbone in place, the latest self released EP is already receiving critical acclaim on the underground hip hop circuit, with reviews and props from a variety of sources including fanzines and legendary artists ;

“Swampfoot deliver a great record that encapsulates a refreshing and unique individual flava which is indefinably their own,” – Rapnews.co.uk

Aside from the land of reviews and releases the Swampfoot live act is also building a strong reputation in venues across the UK. The stage show is designed to combat the benchmark lack of presence in acts based on beats and vocals, and the package is a finely tuned talent extravaganza incorporating the turntablism skills of local legend DJ Dimes, recent UK human beatbox championship winner Doctor Badfunk, and the deeply sick freestyle ambition of MC Bones.

Work is already in progress on a third release, and the act are now looking to expand their endeavours as far afield as possible, and will be touring the UK throughout 2005 and 2006 in support of a new release.
