Greetings to everyone in the planet. We are the Blood of the Stone. Alexter Sopsop on the bass; Gerber Rosado on the drums; and Eric Goden Lomocso on the vocals and guitar.
Why this name?
cos it sounds simple yet deep.
Do you play live?
We play live in the Cebu City independent music scene. We hate Cebu's showband culture, but we love the challenge to eliminate this embarrassing showband scene. For those who don't know much about Filipino pop music terminology, a showband is a pop cover band that plays anything from Spice Girls, sugary pop alternative rock covers, Nelly & etc...for cheap entertainment's sake. We believe we can revolutionize the culture into a more authentic and internationally respectable one. There are few bands in Cebu who are bravely aiming for the same cause. One of our special moments is when we were the feature band on RCTV(a Cebu cable channel) in July last year.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It will help unsigned artists gain recognition and exposure at a faster pace. It helps level the playing field. It gives the artists who have the goods but don't have the connections, economic or geographical advantage a chance to gain a following, bypassing the red tape and politics of the mainstream music industry.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, we would, depending on the terms they offer.
