Staxx Cordero (Da Harlem Barbie Doll)

Word is there's a tornado building in Harlem and her name is Staxx
Cordero! Ms. Cordero is a seasoned female emcee/actress that shocks
many with her innocent, shy look. Over the summer Staxx starred in a
play off Broadway, "The Diva and The Rapper." A triple threat as she
spits, acts and writes her material. No one believes that she is a mc,
until the mic is in hand. It cracks her up to see the look on the
patron's faces once she breaks it down at the open mics or showcases.
"I don't know what they expect, but they never expect me to sound the
way I do."

Staxx has been recently featured in Rap Fanatics Magazine as #3 of the
top ten hottest unsigned artists in NYC. She also recently scorched
the ears of many with a freestyle she spit on 91.9 FM with DJ Jaz.
Also featured on Kay Slay's mix tapes, as well as few spins on HOT 97
by DJ Enuff with a joint called Spanish Fly. She continues to tear it
down in all the open mic venues, from The Pyramid, to Club Speed, to
the Platinum Lounge, PJ's and last but never least the Apollo stage.
There is no fear in her heart when stepping on stage. She spits pure
fire and captures the attention of the guys and flips it standing up
for the ladies. Killing two birds with this one stone is the world
ready for Staxx Cordero?

Often asked the reasons behind her name, she'll laugh it off but
credits a guy from Staten Island that joked, "ain't no pancakes in
them jeans." He began calling her Staxx and it stuck. Feeling the need
to represent her heritage (Dominican and West Indian) she added her
last name, Cordero. Representing Harlem to the fullest, Staxx is so
serious when she steps on stage. We all know how Harlem cats get down,
always standing out. It's no different as she is a showstopper by
nature and playing dress up is every girl's dream. She adapted the
name 'Da Harlem Barbie Doll,' from her love of Barbie Dolls as a kid.
Barbie dolls are something that every girl wants, they're pretty, and
you dress them up and keep them. Women of the world should feel that
way once the album finally hits the store. Its something they have to
have.
