Why this name?
It's my legal name, and because of the fact that so many people have such a hard time pronouncing it (dee-ed-dra), I felt it was unique enough to use as a stage name as well.
Do you play live?
I perform live as much as I can because I love the rush I get from the crowd. I can't think of too many more things I'd rather do.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet levels the playing field to the average musician that would normally not be able to compete in a world that is over-run by over-hyped icons created by the record companies
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, if the label is willing to retain the integrity of my material.
Band History:
Deeadra Peoples

Born in the small mid-west town of Monmouth, IL, Deeadra began her career early, as most R&B performers did, singing in the church choir. It was here that her natural ability was given the roots that would later flower into its current soulful state.
Realizing that her hometown didn’t provide the opportunities she needed, Deeadra packed up and headed west to California where she began to ride the “circuit” doing hooks for various west cost rap groups. Though not very lucrative, these escapades paid off in the form of studio experience as well as chances to arrange and produce.
Soon realizing the need to shine on her own, Deeadra enlisted the aid of close friend and music producer Charles “Unkahmn” Price to begin production of her debut album Undeniable.
A realistic and emotion-filled effort that speaks to the ordinary woman, Undeniable draws its soul from many of Deeadra’s own personal experiences, and is brimming with rich, non-computer generated vocals arranged by Ms. Peoples herself.
With a strong freshmen project in the wings to spear-head her career, and much to prove to herself and others, Deeadra Peoples stands ready to show the world what an undeniable force she really is.

Your influences?
Two of my greatest influences are Mary J Blige and Tina Turner. I love the feeling and the soul that Mary pours into her music and I love the energy that Tina gives in every performance.
