Why this name?
Automatically, when you hear the name, you think of The Godfather. But that's CORLEONE, he is CARLEON!! derived from Mike's middle name CARL. And the EON stands for Everything Or Nothing. Get it? Mike Carl'eon (eon also means forever and ever) Which is how long Mike Carleon's reign will last.
Do you play live?
Mike Carleon has performed and showcased his talents in many venues up and down the East Coast. A memorable performance of his would be "When I was invited to come on stage and spit at the world famous APOLLO THEATER during a Junior Mafia concert, not amateur night. It was a good look for me".
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Mike Carleon feels that with the addition of the internet, His music could be heard and adored on a GLOBAL scale. Versus just having a national fan base. "It is very beneficial to the advancement and longevity of my career".
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Mike Carleon is open to all negotiations, as long as they don't stifle his creativity or interfere with the personal goals he has set for himself and his career.
Your influences?
Mike Carleon has a wide variety of influences that crossover to many different genres. "I was allways into the golden oldies, Marvin, The Temps, Dells, Smokey, Luther, Teddy, I could go on". As far as Hip Hop, that's another long list: "Let's see, KRS-1, Rakim, Kool G, Melly Mel, Kurtis Blow, and the obvious: BIG, Jay, Nas,its literally endless. I take something from everybody that I've listened to and appreciated. From the past, until right now". "Kanye and Marvin Gaye are in my MP3 right now"
Favorite spot?
