Her creative lyrics and witty wordplay truly set her apart from other female emcee’s who have both established longevity in the industry, and who are on the come up. Like one of her favorite emcee’s Nas, C-EZ hasn’t been through a whole lot herself, but she’s seen a lot from her “project” window. Her wisdom and insight have the ability to make the listener feel as if C-EZ has walked with them, talked with them, and been in their shoes. Every once in a while do you have an artist who has the capacity to equally touch men, women, teenagers, young professionals, hustlers, and old timers alike. C-EZ is truly special, bridging the past, the present, and the future not only in her music, but in her life.
Young and fresh, with an old spirit, Ciandress Jackson, aka, C-EZ was born in Newark, NJ in 1982. She’s lived all around the world as the child of a military family. Perhaps this is why C-EZ’s music knows no age, gender, social or cultural boundaries. Her broad and diverse experiences lend themselves to her music, making it even more unique and stand apart.
As a result of her diverse upbringing, C-EZ became an avid lover of all styles of music from classic R&B to country. But nothing has her heart like hip hop. Her passion for the music is unmatched. She began writing and performing at the age of 12 in Charlottesville, Virginia. A Charlottesville facility called the Music Resource Center helped to awaken her creative talent. C-EZ created her own instrumentals, rapped to them, and made her own videos. To this day, she has preferred the independent approach to her music, opting to carry her ideas through from start to finish. While in college in Virginia, C-EZ took her creativity to the next level by putting out two mixtapes and a self produced, self published, self recorded album. She received exceptional accolades for her work in various news publications both local and international. Now C-EZ is on the quest to find a label home to help her in spreading her much needed music to the world.
C-EZ is the type of person that likes to make everybody happy, and she seeks to do that with her music as well. But she doesn’t just try, she succeeds. It’s only a matter of time before the world receives the gift of C-EZ’s music. An intelligent, positive, funny, clever and insightful female emcee is long over due in the game.
