...and on the way home...
We are a small band that is just getting our name out.
We have had good underground sucess, and that is pushing
us to try to outdo ourselves with everysong we write.
Why this name?
It funny because, whenever I would drive home from my fiances house, I couldnt wait to get home to write some music, so I would try to come up with cool tunes in my head...speed home so i could receord them and not forget it.
Do you play live?
Yes we play live. We basically play anywhere we can get.
Ummm...its good to play live I guess. I like it. Its sort of nerve raking because you dont know how your crowds gonna react each night, but...that makes it all the more fun.
This one time, a couple of years ago, playing in New Hampshire,
we were playing "Left in Black" live, and John had the song written for some time, but for some reason he decided to change the words to the ending like 10 minutes before the show, and only told us right when we were about to start playing the song. So when the end came, John FORGOT what the ending was, so had to freestyle sing, and we didnt know when to stop playing...so we kept on and on and finally John said "F*** It" into the mic and walked off stage...peaople were like "ughh....should I clap? Should I laugh?"...probly one of the best moments in And on the way home History.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Oh my God...it allows people all over the country and world to listen to other peoples music that otherwise wouldnt be heard.
Underground music is pretty damn good. Better than a lot of the band that have made it today...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I think we would, depending on how much freedom we got to do what we wanted. But, if a good oppurtunity comes...yes.
Your influences?
One guy, Andrew McMahon of Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin. I mean the guy is a musical genius. I know he has been by far, Johns biggest influence in all musical aspects. He actually got the North CD cover tatood on his arm. No, but, Andrew by far.
Favorite spot?
Providence, Rhode Island....its hoppin' here guys
