And now.....for your listening pleasure....the one....the only...... ahh hell, who cares!
Why this name?
It was something I heard on a Lemonheads album. After hearing it, I couldn't get it out of my head.
Do you play live?
Haven't played live for a few years. Hopefully in the future....time will tell.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is a wonderful thing. How else can bands from around the globe share their music who aren't under contract with major labels to support their distribution. It is most assuredly the future of music as we know it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
ONLY if it were on my terms.
Band History:
It all began in the spring of 1994. As four young aspiring musicians, coming from completely opposite backgrounds, came together as one. Using the name Tales of Knee-Know to attract attention to an otherwise obscure venture. Blending the sounds of many classic and modern genres to form a style that was beknownst unto the band as "the Beatles meets modern day mush." As time progressed, a member felt his talent was leading in a different direction as to where the band itself was heading. After long deliberation, the fourth member parted ways on good terms. Continuing as a three piece, they felt they only one choice but to start fresh with new music as well as a name. The choice this time was Oscar Horowitz and the Shiney Lampshade Combo. By now it is the late summer of 1996. The third member of the band had been experimenting in the electronic music world and wished to pursue it full time. This left the two remaining members without a clue as to what to do. Taking a long year and a half hiatus from music the two remaining members formed again to start nothing more than a project known as the JJ Love Guild. After this, the two parted ways, seemingly for good, only to meet again in 2002. Nothing has, nor will come of that. The good news in all of this is that the remaining founding member is here to try again, with the wonders of technology, to bring you something fresh. With a new name yet again..... Now after all of that time I spent typing, I realized that all of that stuff has absolutely nothing to do with the music that is being played now. Those just happen to be bands that I was a part of in the past. I have too much time on my hands just to be typing my lifes story, well, maybe not that much. But, if you read all the way to this point, then you obviously have too much time on your hands, so there.
