The John Burgess Society is a band fronted by John Burgess, singer, songwriter, musician, vocalist, producer, arranger, and performer. Many solo and collaborative projects are created, recorded and performed by the Society. Featured collaborations with artists Michael Sherwood, Elvis & Shecky, CE 399, and lyricist Charles Hazen ( - www.hazenworld.com - ).
Why this name?
Chosen because it encompasses the various musical interests, results, solo projects, and collaborations that John Burgess has been the primary force in creating. It's his fault !!
Do you play live?
Now based in SALEM, OREGON (via many years in Las Vegas), the Society has, will, and always loves to Play live music.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Don't really know how I feel about this just yet. It's bound to work out in the long run, for artists, listeners, and corporate pigs too.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course, we would, if they met our "actually breathing and alive" criteria. We are not picky.
