dj-blackmind is the artists name for jeroen koop, aged 27 from the northeastcorner of the netherlands. there he spend the last 8and a half years homin' his skills. nowadays the core productions are some in between industrial/darkcore/breakcore genre, in bpm range from around 180bpm to around 220bpm ( 90% of the productions that is, there's always room for x-perimental stuff ). greetz and enjoy the music yours j.koop aka blackmind
Why this name?
it came to me on a day some 6 years ago. i loved on the first thought of it and i still do. i think it a good representative to the style of music i create and i broadcast whiles dj-ing.
Do you play live?
i always perform live whiles dj-ing, and i even have a special live-act-performance full of action and motion and mindblowing hc.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
i liberates it, no longer the music industry is for the choosen few who happen to have the connections. nowadays anybody can introduce the world to his/her creativaty, and if you're real good sooner or later someone will be picking it up.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
i'm doing business with 2 buddies of mine. with terrorizm events we organize parties, and have around 10 dj's contracted, and we do our own releases. so no need to shop by the major labels, even think you're better off contracting to a medium label.
Band History:
i can be real brief on this one...8,5years humping, stumping, pumping, and get people to go insane...and loose themselfs in the music i play/create...
Your influences?
spending time at parties, getting a taste of the action and feel the ambiance, store that sensation and recreate it at home
Favorite spot?
my hometown...duh
Equipment used:
professional sound-editing software and a 19"rack with various filterdevices. and ofcourse you're standart keyboard, synth and drumcomputer. That's plugged to a subleme speakersytem (yes, i'm keeping the specs to myself)
