I play guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, and tin whistle, none of them very well I'm afraid. I sing a lot when no one is listening.
Why this name?
It's my real name.
Do you play live?
I have played at gatherings but not as a featured act.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the potential for change is great. I wish the recording industry as a whole would stop kicking and screaming and enter the twenty first century, rather than trying to litigate the industry back into the mid twentieth century.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No. They wouldn't ask, I wouldn't sign.
Your influences?
folk, civil war music, cowboy songs, blues, country, bluegrass.
Favorite spot?
appalachia
Equipment used:
Ovation guitar, Rogue banjo, Rogue Baritone Ukulele, Rogue Soprano Ukulele, Odessa mandolin, Mountain Dulcimer, various harmonicas, and two Clark tin whistles. Homemade washtub bass, and a diddleybow.
