Most tales of stardom start with a birth of a band; with NatterVrede, the beginning came from death. Nattervrede was formed by cathaoir after a tragic end of his old bands of Noktorn, (95-01) and Phasmatis (98-03). Cathaoir was stricken with Carpal tunnel and Tendonitis, the same fate which ultimately took Demonaz from playing in Immortal, in 2003. After years of painful recovery in 2004 Cathaoir became able to play again, and from the death of the old bands a light in a sea of darkness emerged With fires of hell renewed in Cathaoir he set out to regain his skills of generating darkness through music. From talks with old band mates Heretic and Autumnax he came across an ideal individual for the new voice of NatterVrede, and During the audition a fellow warrior of the name Ixion blew Cathaoir away with his audition. "The defining moment of Ixion's audition was when he held a diabolical scream for almost a minute and nearly collapsed. That was when Cathaoir knew Ixion would be perfect for vocals.

On the fullmoon, of the summer solstice in 2005 Cathaoir and Ixion finished the first Demo entitled "Kvult ist Krieg" Containing an original and a Venom cover of Black Metal." Making a small spark in a infinite nite sky, attention began to follow, especially from underground zines and the lucky few who got the very limited edition. Now in July of 2005, the band now with a solidified beginning sets out to record the First EP entitled "Nocturnal Frost." An old school black metal EP honoring the greats of Venom with NatterVrede Covering Venom's "In League with Satan", Mayhem's "Deathcrush" and Bathory's "Call from the Grave." In addition to the 3 cover in the same vein and style of the three founders of black metal three originals of "Nocturnal Frost, Eternal Bathory and Morbid." Will fill out the rest of the Ep which will be released in limited edition. And the story continues...
