Sup everyone! CodexP and Guilty Smiles comin at you with that hot sh*** as usual! Check back for some more of this sh*** periodically.
Why this name?
The name Codex means a collection of sacred writings or scriptures. P23 is the name of a gun that I used to own.
Do you play live?
I rocked live in small places, nothing too fancy. Most times it's been in small places around my city and random house parties.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It lets all us up-and-coming MCs get our name out there.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Nope.
Band History:
At this point in time, I've been rhyming for almost 8 years. Started rhyming in february of '99.
Your influences?
Mostly underground MCs and a few commercial- Aesop Rock, Eminem, Thirstin Howl III, Cage, Nas, etc.
Favorite spot?
My homemade studio ;)
Equipment used:
Honestly, it's nothing fancy. I use a program called Goldwave to edit and mix tracks, a mic stand with boom adapter, a "pop-it" filter to eliminate that "POP" noise when saying words with the letters "B" and "P" in them, computer with new SoundBlaster Audigy 2 sound card, and my Sennheiser E-845 mic which I use to dismantle MCs with.
Anything else...?
