It's my gift to write songs, but not my calling to be a stage performer.

More communication possibilities
make more opportunities for people
without a marketable commercial image
to share their creativity. That should help level the playing field a little.

Although I feel I've written some good
songs, the commercial music industry is
generally geared towards finding artists with a
marketable image, and the industry has difficulty prioritizing the intrinsic value
of an artist's song lyrics. Nevertheless I welcome exposure for the messages contained in my songs, including their use by others.

I grew up listening to a lot of
traditional gospel stuff, and also
to the pop music of the 60's & 70's
youth culture. I like contemporary music as long as the message is valid and not overshadowed by the medium of the instruments.

A variety of acoustic and digital instruments and recording tools and software. It's not so much how much equipment or how expensive, but how you use it that matters in the end.

There's a difference -- between singing about someone you love, respect or admire -- and singing TO that person. Since the Gospel message is both of those things, my songs relate to both perspectives: I sing TO the Lord as well as sing about Him.
