I'm a 24 year old singer/songwriter who has been writing music since I was young. When I was 18 years old I worked with the great Nils Lofgren of
Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band. He produced some of my earlier stuff. Through him I got to
meet Ringo Starr. About 2 years ago I was in the
band Brickfoot; during which time I've been up and down the east coast as well as shows out west
and a tour with the Department of Defense which
took us to Greenland to play for the troops and to play the first light festival at Thule air base. I am not however pro military or especially
interested in war, but it was a great experience and a beautiful
country .
Why this name?
I am a solo artist now and I just use my God given name "Shane Burke"
Do you play live?
I play out at least 3 times a week. I host the
open mics at Huckleberry's coffee and Bayou Cafe
in Abingdon and White Marsh Maryland and I also
book talent there.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It opens up a new world for all the artists out
there that want to get their music heard. Sound Clink along with my space and other web sites that will let you put up a web page .
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would still sign a record contract with a major
or an indie label .
Your influences?
Beatles, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Bjork, Sogir Ros, Deftones, Zepplin, Hendrix, Janis Joplin , Nora Jones, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Marvin Gaye, Coldplay, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, and most any kind of music that comes from the heart...
Favorite spot?
I have to say England. My father is from there and I spent alot of my childhood there. I moved to England last year for a short time , but I will be going back someday to life..
