Fresh off the streets of Portsmouth, Virginia (P-Town, P. City), emerges an underground giant that has his eyes set on success. Jaisaun, born Jeff Smith, is an unique guy. He was always streetwise, but he also had a great passion for writing.
His writing led to rapping in the late 80s. He really took the craft serious in the summer of '95. Then April 10, 2001, he released his debut album with the group Mind Reapers. The self-titled album was critically acclaimed, and the streets loved it. But it flopped, selling a little under one-thousand copies.
Two years later, Jaisaun linked up with his former Mind Reaper group member Tony Hustle. They collaborated on a small-time mixtape hosted by DJ T-Dub. The three of them were just getting their feet wet again. The mixtape went nowhere, but it brought Jaisaun back to his essence.
Now in 2005, Jaisaun is calling the shots, and takes no prisoners. He's dropped the "My World: Volume One" mixtape in July, and he's creating quite a buzz around the 757 area. The 757 area is Hampton Roads. Hampton Roads makes up the seven cities which are Portsmouth, Norfolk, Suffolk, Newport News, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach and Hampton.
Hailing from the same streets as Missy Elliot, Jaisaun is determined to make a powerful differnce
in the genre. He aims for being original, clever and witty. He's organized an independent record company Jaiwalk Entertainment with his partner, Greg Mohan. And they're planning to take the rap game by storm in the first quarter of 2006.

Why this name?
Its actually the name I'm gonna give my first born son. I just always thought it was a nice name. And unique.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
With these pages like www.soundclick.com, it's able to get a lot of unsigned artists heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If my lawyers tell me it's a good deal. I'm aiming for getting my label distributed by a major.
Your influences?
Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Tupac Shakur, Big L, Chuck D.
Favorite spot?
I have many spots I like. But I'm in love with Florida. I love Atlanta too. But there's no place like home.
