Throughout my travels my heart and spirit were always open to learning the
history of aplace, words with special meaning in another language or the
music thatreflects a people. My vision for this work began as a collective
reflection ofthe musical traditions of Europe and the Middle East that have,
over the years, created an influence on my music. Beholden to my Celtic and
Arabic roots, andhaving a love for the musical expression of the African
people, in this body ofwork, we created a passage through these cultures
shaped, in part, by theinfluences of cinematic soundtracks.
We committed ourselves to the passion we share in celebrating thebeauty of
diversity, so without surrender to one musical genre, eclecticismbecame our
course. And serendipity asserted itself time and again throughoutthe process
of the writing and production of this album. The music, the songs, the
musicians and mygifted producers, flowed together with ease as if
choreographed by some cosmic intent.

Band History:
Nadia was a student of classical piano at seven, and began composing at age nine. Her early years of study were under Madame Gertrude Trembly-Baker, the principal piano teacher to famed pianist Louis Teicher of the legendary piano duo Ferrante & Teicher.
Nadia later taught herself to play the guitar and began studying classical voice while a student at the University of South Carolina. She also studied with vocal coach and retired Radio City Music Hall virtuoso Kay Holly. Nadia was a jazz singer with the Franklin Ashley Trio, creating several original jazz recordings, and performed with numerous other jazz ensembles and top 40 bands. She also recorded the pop single Looking For a Buyer, produced by New York-based Latin jazz artist and producer Norman Hedman, in collaboration with jazz great Chico Freeman.
In 1998, Nadia performed in a special concert held in the Roman amphitheater in the historic city of Jerash in Jordan. Later in 1998, Nadia released a 6-song CD she co-wrote and recorded in three languages (Arabic, English and French) entitled No Greater Love, accompanied by a music video shot on location in the ancient, mystical city of Petra in Jordan. Her music video aired via satellite into over 40 nations throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
Nadia is an emerging recording artist, who released her self-titled debut album in December 2000. Nadia is a dynamic new solo artist accomplished as a fine pop vocalist as well as composer and songwriter. With the influences of her Arabic and Celtic heritages, as well as strong roots in classical piano, Nadia creates a new sound blending New Age, Celtic, World Beat and Classical influences.
