Welcome to the page of Little Mickey & .44 Asa, an acoustic Blues twopiece from sunny Sheffield up north in merry old England. We've been playing in jam sessions, recording and gigging in pubs for about three years now, with Little Mickey providing vocals and harmonica, and .44 Asa playing the guitar.

For more information about us, go to our myspace page by clicking on the "official web page" link at the bottom right of this page!
Why this name?
Why? Because the old name was crap. How? Well, after playing a few gigs and attending a Blues course in Northampton I was compared numerous times to a young Mick Jagger (hence Little Mickey) .44 Asa was Asa's name of choice, after the legendary .44 Charlie.
Do you play live?
We play at an open session every month at a pub in Sheffield. We also play in various other places around the city (the Green Room being our current haunt of choice) and two years ago we appeared at the Orkney Blues festival, which was a real buzz.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We were actually offered a record contract with Statue Records, but after some condsideration we decided to turn it down. We would still sign with a label if the right opportunity came along, but for now we're fine as we are.
Your influences?
We 're influenced by Blues of all kinds, but particularly delta Blues: Robert Johnson, Son House, R.l. Burnside, all o' that.
Favorite spot?
We like the Green Room because they hire us and give us money. The Red Deer is also a great place, as is the Bath Hotel.
Equipment used:
Little Mickey uses harmonicas of all kinds (from Hohner to Lee Oscar and back again) plus any microphones he can get his hands on. .44 Asa's main instrument is an Earthfire guitar.
