loam/lathe is the latest in a long line of solo 'f***ing around with sound' band/projects i have done since i was a teenager.
previous names used were wounded galaxy, singularity, virescit volnere virtus and ingirumimusnocteetconsumimurigni

i dont know what i am doing
or what sounds i may produce

most sounds are acoustic recordings heavily processed on computer using whatever free or shareware i can find.
it could be considered improvisation as i usually play around with, say, Audiomulch or granular synths and record the results.
Why this name?
i like the words loam and lathe
soil from which things grow and into which things decay, plus a tool for forming objects from formless substances.
only less pretentious sounding!
Do you play live?
i play live in other bands.
i do not yet have the equipment to do this live
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
by destroying it
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
like they'd ask me!
f*** them, leeches
Band History:
no history
it's all at right angles to reality
Your influences?
i like way too much music to list, from almost all genres.
Husker Du, Merzbow, SUNN0))), Trollmann av Ildtoppberg, Nick Drake, Whitehouse, Nurse With Wound, Darkthrone...
Favorite spot?
the Isle of Skye
specifically the Talisker distillery
Equipment used:
i use soil and chisels
Anything else...?
this is not art
