Waterfall

Live bass and live vocals on this: piano, strings, flute, acoustic guitar, and percussion are all sequenced. I added the 'waterfall' intro-outro sound-effect as an afterthought.

About the song
I'm still having computer problems but at least I have the machine back and so I'm able to remix/post something.
I wrote this in October 2004: the first song I’d written and recorded in about 15 years, and one that sort of came from the mind straight onto the computer. A couple of the chords I could hear but not instantly work out, and may sound a little weird.

Lyrics
Verse1
I sat beside a waterfall and looked into her eyes.
The air was cool, with trees so tall -
Which caught the sounds then, wrapped in leaves,
They threw them back so to deceive me.
Verse2
I slept beside the waterfall within her rhythmic sighs;
And rumbling, tumbling dreams did call
Me down to drown where darkness keeps
Her pain, and sadness never sleeps.
Verse3
I dreamt beside the waterfall, a place where wonder hides.
Then passing through a glistening wall
To shifting caves that call and gleam
I find the soul, the source, the stream.
Verse4
I wake beside a river bed and look into her eyes,
Relieved to see that it is dead.
Now hope grows there and love appears,
No more falling, no more tears -
No more tears.
No more tears.
I sat beside a waterfall and looked into her eyes.
The air was cool, with trees so tall -
Which caught the sounds then, wrapped in leaves,
They threw them back so to deceive me.

And rumbling, tumbling dreams did call
Me down to drown where darkness keeps
Her pain, and sadness never sleeps.
Verse3

To shifting caves that call and gleam
I find the soul, the source, the stream.
Verse4
I wake beside a river bed and look into her eyes,
Relieved to see that it is dead.
Now hope grows there and love appears,
No more falling, no more tears -
No more tears.
No more tears.
