Sup! My name is Barcs and I've been spittin since 97. Reppin Morristown, NJ. Check out my first album, The Genesis at www.soundclick.com/barcsthegenesis, completely free. My second CD entitled "Waiting For Justice" is due for an early 2006 release.
Why this name?
I had that nickname since way back in the day. It just stuck.
Do you play live?
I spit at Mexicali blues cafe in Teaneck every now and then. Performing live is the most thrilling experience, and I recommend any one who spits to do it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It made it more available for a greater audience. That way people who can't afford to buy all the hot music of today have a chance to sample it. It also makes people download songs to avoid buying cds from rich wack artists who don't deserve it, which I encourage immensely!! It also gives artists who are obscure or don't have distribution/promotional deals a chance to be heard, ie the underground. Without the internet I wouldn't have heard about some of the illest MCs out, but don't blow up because of some rich record label executives that want to stay on top and dictate "creativity".
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If I had the opportunity to share my ideas with the world I would jump at it. The world needs me!!!! Too many garbage commercial artists out there! There's more to rap than money women & cars!
Band History:
I've been rapping since 97. I'm currently 25 years old. So far I got 1 album out called "The Genesis." Pee it here: www.soundclick.com/barcsthegenesis. 16 tracks. 100% free. I have a new one scheduled for early 2006, called "Waiting For Justice." I'm constantly looking for cats who make hot beats!! hit me up at barcs2k@hotmail.com or on aim Barcs99.

Your influences?
Canibus, Slug, Jedi Mind Tricks, Eminem, Wu-tang Clan, 2pac, Cypress Hill, Immortal Technique, Nas, etc. I'm tired of all the fake rappers who talk about nothing but money, cars and women. There's too many soft rappers out there these days. That's just played out. I rap from the heart about real things, ill metaphors, and storytelling. Mad props to all the underground artists! They keep it realer than any of these wannabe gangstaz out now.
Favorite spot?
MOTOWN, NJ!!!
Equipment used:
I use my computer, Adobe Audition(cool edit pro) software, my microphone, and a Sound Blaster Audigy Plantinum card.
Anything else...?
