Based in Poplar Bluff, a small southeastern Missouri town, Stormwind has stepped out of obscurity and is becoming one of the most listened to projects in the area! Armed with naught but a keyboard, a computer, and a desire to move you - It's time to feel the Storm!
Why this name?
It was something that just happened to come to me after some thought. I had it before World of Warcraft came out so it wasn't from there (but I could say they dedicated a virtual city to my name?)
Do you play live?
Unfortunately due to money constraints and lack of equipment and experience, Stormwind is unable to perform live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows musicians without the financial means to produce mass quantities of CDs to get their music out to a huge population - Many places that you wouldn't even expect!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm not entirely sure. I'd prefer that the major labels really revamp their tactics. I could care less about money or fame, exposure would be nice but not the hassles that come with it.
Band History:
In August 2005, a young man from Missouri decided it was time to escape from the country music stronghold on the area and show that he can move you! With a great interest in the synthpop and darkwave scene, he hopes to one day be as influential as his predecessors. Stormwind has also collaborated with local artist Brakan to form Psychotropic, a humorous blend of comedy and beats.
Your influences?
De/Vision, Hubert KaH, Cause & Effect, Darude, Praga Khan, Morado, David Vesel, Intervox, NukleoN, Wolfsheim
Favorite spot?
Wherever music is being played, be it the sound of nature or the sound of humanity.
Equipment used:
A few software synths (mainly FL Studio) and a cheap midi keyboard.
Anything else...?
Thanks for listening! I really appreciate it!
