play lo-fi play hi-fi  Fear (demo)
We are Aeryn and play a combination of our own songs and various covers.
    We comprise of:
  • The Jack - Vocals and Guitar duties
  • The Sam - Vox and bass
We recorded our first four track CD, 'Deus Ex Nihilo' a few months ago, and recently played our first gig at the Joiners in Southampton.
Why this name?
I can't honesty remember!
Do you play live?
We've only played one gig at the moment, which went down a storm, so were hoping to play again soon.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
With the rise of sites like this I think that younger unsigned acts are getting a better chance at being heard by all walks of people in different places which can only be a good thing, however with the rise in illegal leaks of big name bands I feel that artists are being cheated of the rights to their music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah! If we had the chance to get big I imagine we'd be happy to play on any label.
Band History:
"Formed during the summer of 2005, after becoming acquainted on Dartmoor, Sam Cowling (bass) and Jack Henderson (vocals, guitar) were brought together out of a mutual love of metal, the philosophies of Anton LaVey and Nietzsche and various farmyard poultry. They completed their first EP, 'Deus Ex Nihilo', just months after forming."

Your influences?
AMEN, Marilyn Manson, Metallica, The Cure, Apocalytpica, Zakk Wylde, The Ozzman, Stone Sour, System of a Down, The Murderdolls, Dimmu Borgir and everything else in between.
Favorite spot?
Wherever I'm practicing.
Equipment used:
Sam uses a 5 string AXL Tiger Pro bass and a Laney amp, through a zoom FX pedal, and also contributes his skills on piano and synth.

Jack utilises a fake strat, which is almost always through a Boss DS1 distortion pedal. He also is the main operatior of electronic drums and audio programming.

Anything else...?
We're strangely influenced by the late, great Mo Mowlam, cheese and ducks.
