Why this name?
We got it, because we needed a different name then "Clean-X"(our old name) when we decided to go full time with this thing and basiclly we formed our band the last week of september 2002 hence the name...
End Of September.
End Of September.
Do you play live?
Yes, We are starting out in our hometown of Livonia/Westland. Oh we love it, it is a rush like none other. We play a lot at the token lounge, we are trying to find other venue's to play at as well.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It exposes people to a lot of new broader types of music that they normally would'nt listen to before.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
why would'nt we? we are'nt selling out! we are buying in! I would help to get our message out there, of just being true to yourself.
Band History:
End Of September started out as many bands do. They don’t. If that makes any sense to you at all. It’s 8th grade, Brandon is an aspiring young lad who is learning the art of the bass. He forms a duet of sorts with best friend Tim Comben; they team up with aspiring guitarist Dan Peters. Together they form the band “First Times Free.” They never practice once. Dan moves. 9th grade quickly approaches as Tim introduces Brandon to what would start a friendship that would be strong enough to melt lead.
Enter Justin Priami: Guitarist Extraordinaire. The 3 get together and play the only 2 songs they know, Blink-182’s “Adam Song” and Nirvana’s “Smell’s like teen spirit.” They create a song called “Melvin.” Then the problems start forming. Justin and Tim argue over everything ranging from the musical direction of the band, to the name of the band. They soon agree on “Stating The Obvious” from a suggestion of Brandon’s. No go, the 2 still argue over the stupidest of things.
Brandon quickly gets sick of the arguing and leaves the band to form what would be a 2 week band with Brennan Pearson and Pete Diginaro called: “Savor The Flavor” They play one gig at the trinity house theater. That quickly breaks up as the other 2 go back to their band “Bench-warmer.”
So now Brandon, Justin, and Tim are at a standstill musically. Sadly, Tim quits playing the drums unofficially (he just stopped playing.) And Justin and Brandon spend everyday after school jamming in Brandon’s basement from 9th grade to 10th grade. Gaining knowledge and respect for the product they would try to deliver. They soon discover their newfound inspiration for life and music: The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
As they gain more and more skill, their sophomore bcc variety shows approaches. A classmate introduces them to a freshman drummer named: Don Ball. “Donny” as they called him, and the other 2 form an act for the show that would blow away the audience, as they perform “Other side,” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers under the stage name: “Clean-X”. After this performance, the 3 decide to make the band fulltime. They would create their own songs, and perform them for the masses. They choose a new stage name aptly: “End Of September,” based on the mere fact they were formed the last week of September.
Their style is unique, yet strangely familiar. Combining elements of Rock, Funk, and a little bit of Punk, the 3 have their first taste of musical freedom by having their first show at the token lounge. Creating familiar crowd hits like: “Funky TRTL,” and others. They continue performing at venues like the Token, and even riverside skating area.
Justin and Brandon notice something wrong with Donny. He is not dedicated enough, he looks like he wants to be somewhere else on stage, and never wants to practice or do shows. So the time had come for End Of September to part with their beloved Donny. Justin and Brandon, not wanting to lose any of the momentum they are gaining quickly think of drummers that would fit in with them.
Almost immediately they mention their very good friend: Brennan Pearson. He has been a friend with them for some time now, and they hang all the time in school and out. All 3 are in choir and after school choir groups, like their quartet and declaration. They jam with Brennan, teaching him their tunes. He quickly catches on and fits right in with the band, with look, style, personality, charisma, and playing ability. They make him the new full time drummer and things have been looking better then they ever have before for End Of September. They have a full length cd coming out soon, and they continue to do shows, “Putting butts in the seats, and keeping em’ there.”

Your influences?
the red hot chili peppers are by far the greatest musical influences on our lives... they teach so much and are so unique, thats what we want to accomplish... along with that you have bands like nirvana, metallica, and others like them, along with others that aren't.
Favorite spot?
we like to play live anywhere we can get.
Equipment used:
Brennan has the drum things see..., Justin and I both play on dean guitars/basses. We got a pretty sweet sound setup too.
Anything else...?
