I am 53 and started playing trombone when I was 10 in elem. school. In my hometown, I am known as the "boneman". I also play guitar, keys, drums and sing and have held down various live band excursions in my career. I want to thank all my friends and relatives who have supported me thru out my life and I hope in some way I have given back that meaningfulness to some extent to all.
Why this name?
The name comes from a variation of my last name and my love of space, thus Wilkins=Wilkyway(Milkyway galaxy)
Do you play live?
Have been playing with Denny and the Cruisers at Stockton Lake, Mo. Also, like hitting the jams around Joplin, Mo.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Hopefully for the better
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
At this point in time, I have to say definitely. But would like to see them change due to there sullen ways.
Band History:
I was the music director at the old Redings Mill Inn for 5 years. Have played in various live bands thru out the years.
Your influences?
Loved Allan Parsons Project, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, all kinds of music, I just think 'a good song is a good song.'
Favorite spot?
Turtleheads in Joplin, Mo.
Equipment used:
I use an old poly 800 synth, a boss dr5 a digitech vr for vocal backing an Art fxr, fender and ovation guitars, olds and yamaha trombones.
Anything else...?
I am looking forward to expressing on this site and hope it to be fun. All music played and produced by Greg Wilkins.
