Just a one man act here (unless you count the 'living room concerts' with my sons). I am an accomplished musician with 29 years of music playing experience and have won several awards, but I do not perform anymore. Now I find pleasure in writing music. Soundclick opened my eyes to this area of interest and I got started right away. When browsing around and listening, I am amazed at the quality and skill of the works and artists. I am humbled by the majority of you guys, but as fellow artists you may understand the need to get your music "out to the masses". I write mostly symphonic or new age music, but wish it were gothic or symphonic rock. No matter how I start a song, I seem to be able to only write in minor keys. I typically write a more plaintive, baroque, and haunting sound. My goals are to venture into metal/christian metal as a gothic/symphonic metal band. I cannot play (not any good anyway) any stringed instruments and I still record the old fashioned way so there are limitations.
Why this name?
I don't know...that is what happens when you brainstorm with 7 and 6 year old boys.
Do you play live?
we do 'living room concerts'. Solomon (6) screams nursery rhymes into the mic while Zechariah (7) loses his mind on the drums and I try to play some chords on the guitar. Yes, it can get painful to the ears.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has driven more musicians to go beyond where they normally may have gone in the quest to be heard. It is nothing but good. Even with rampant mp3 trading, the music industry and exploded with hordes of new artists. Even unsigned artists can be heard around the world...what could be worng with that?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
sure
Band History:
Defining me as the band, I started classical piano lessons when I was five and followed through all the way through high school. During that time I also learned pretty much all the other common instruments with the exception of stringed instrtuments. I started performing at evening services of my church and was soon playing evey weekend at a different church. I performed for several events at my school and also for a couple of weddings. It wasn't until after high school when I started giving the formal concerts/recitals and even then it was still mostly in churches. I was taking organ lessons so I would put on organ recitals at any church that would let me. After that, I played a few timed in Hudson's (now known as Marshall Fields), Amway Grand Plaza, and two summer time festivals. I gave my biggest concert at a very well known local church. Less than 24 hours after my last concert I had a farm accident with extensive injuries to my left hand requiring multiple surgeries. I now have the use of my hand back, but it is only about 85% of what it once was. After giving up on music for about 7 years, I purchased a cheap Yamaha PSR 195, and it has all started again. Now music is a huge part of my life as it once was.
Your influences?
This will make no sense to you...Type O Negative, Cradle of filth, Evanescence, Moonspell, Nightwish, Enya, Enigma, Dulce Puntes, Andrea Bocelli
