Once you start listening you will be addicted. This music is dynamic and evolves with each new production. A mixture of many types of music in the Electronic Genres.
Why this name?
The greek Symbol Omicron looked cool... had to add an "n" cos I was always a big fan of transformers, atari and anything else 80's. It seemed right.
Do you play live?
Techno isn't really something you can play live for the most part. Sure an artist can play the other tracks and handplay the main solo but its humanly impossible to actually play a mix live. Especially since this is a one man band. There are about a dozen songs that I can play live and have fun doing so. Its really nice to play live becuase people want to know where the music is coming from and thats what its all about. Human Interaction, engagment. I plan to orchestrate an entire live show of all my music. Improvisation is the name of the game over here. :) smile.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Omnicron has been around since 1996, since mp3.com first started. I watched it rise and fall, and all the other sites as well... it's been an interesting ride from 96-present. we definitely live in a different music world.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
sure... i eat peanut butter sandwiches and celery... maybe once in a while i'd like a hamburger or a steak?
Band History:
Omnicron is a great project. Rewarding and wonderful. I love getting e-mails and friends through music, thats what its all about. I've been composing ever since I got my first Yamaha keyboard and since then I have learned very much through classical training and self teaching practices. I started the project "omnicron" in November of 1996, ever since its been good experiences for me. The world-wide support is just wonderful. Thanks to all of you. I'm not very good at writing up formal histories so this will have to do.
Your influences?
Aphex Twin, Robert Miles, BT, KMFDM, NIN, Orbital, Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, Dust Brothers, Prodigy, Enya, Yanni, Mu-Ziq, so many more its hurting my fingers to type and frying my brain. I love all kinds of music. Rachmoninoff, J.S. Bach, Betohveen, Schubert, Mozart and everything from Metallica to the Beatles and .... so many more.
Favorite spot?
Raves, or anything with lots of people having a good time listening to techno. People falling in love or just plain have fun with there friends. It can be anymore, its all universal on its own with everyone.
