Ms. K.O. is me and me... and me. I am a keyboard player, vocalist, songwriter, engineer and producer. I began playing the keyboard and singing at 8 and studied classical piano and voice for several years. I specialize in writing R&B, hip hop, and jazz music. I own the indie record label Blu Bac Records.
Why this name?
Not too interesting of a reason. KO is my initials.
Do you play live?
I do play live. You can catch me doing an occasional cameo appearance with the Eddie Bacchus Trio at the Wolf's Den or The Spot 2 in Cleveland, OH. I also do shows in New York City and New Jersey. I do shows when I am asked, however, my main focus is as a songwriter not a performer but once it's in you it's in you and I do enjoy playing live. I especially like the role playing aspect of performing.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has played a vital role in aiding unsigned musicians and indie labels in getting their music heard around the world.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would sign a contract with a major label...ABSOLUTELY! Why not...AS LONG AS (with emphasis) the deal is right!
Stevie Wonder, Oscar Peterson, Minnie Ripertron, Etta James, Jaguar Wright, Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Esther Phillips, Gene Ammons, Quincy Jones, UGK, Scarface, 8 Ball & MJG, Too Short, NWA, Nirvana, Madonna, Aerosmith.. the list goes on.....
New York city hands down
