My name has always been there. It was very easy to use. I am who I am.

Yes, I sing live at churches and assembly halls. I love to sing. It makes me feel my personal connection with God, knowing I'm using a gift given by him. I have a lot of special moments and memories of performances. I was the 2000 USA Talent Search Overall Winner, I was the runner-up in the 2000 Coca-Cola True Talent Artist Search held at the BET Black Hall in Washington, D.C., and the most noted learning experience of all was the 2004 American Idol Auditions. I didn't win, but what an experience!!!!!!

It will give people a chance to reach a variety of other people who are far away without actually going there unless they have been requested to go.

I don't think a major record label would be able to meet my requirements. The one most noted is that I don't do what I do for money, I do it to please God. Contracts would probably force me to become someone I am not and at the same time bind me from doing some of the things that I want to do for the Lord. If a major label can meet MY needs, yes. If not, then NO. I must please MY FATHER!!!!

Born in Camden New Jersey on the sixth day of July 1978, she is Shyrita Washington, the youngest of three children.

She came from a family of ministers.It goes back to her grandfather who is now a Bishop and her mother who is a Pastor.

She has been singing since the age of six and performing since the age of eight.

Singing at her grandfathers church is where she got her first chance to sing in front of a congregation.

By the age of fifteen, she had become the choir director at,"Love of Christ Church of Faith," where her mother is Pastor.

After two years of that, her mother encouraged her to write her own material. With that in mind, she began to write. she now has a number of songs written in the genre of Gospel.

In June of 2000, she performed a song she wrote entitled,"Open Your Eyes," in the,"USA Talent Search," held in Delmar Delaware.She won first place for her category and also the overall prize.

Within the same month, she sent this song off to the,"Coca Cola True Talent Artist Search,"hoping to be chosen as one of the eight contestants. To her suprise, she was chosen! It was held at the "BET Blackhall" in Washington D.C. and sponsored by; BET,Def Jam, Avirex, Mecca,Yamaha, and of course, Coca Cola.

Shyrita went to New Orleans and auditioned for "American Idol" in 2004.

In the winter of 2004, the production of her first album "Only Believe" began.

In the summer of 2005 her first single was released("Your Praise").

I love Gospel and R&B, but that is not all. I am open to all types of music. I listen to the message within the music.CeCe Winans and Yolanda Adams as well as many others have influenced me throughout the years.

Shyrita's much anticipated album is now complete!! Due to a great work load on our team members and herself, the project completion was delayed. -All tracks were produced by Sam Addams . -Shyrita was born in Camden, New Jersey and moved to Alabama. -Her favorite artist is Cece Winans.

Shyrita's album targets the youth and anyone that "truly" loves the Lord who encontered many pains and problems in the church. In my opinion, Shyrita brings out the things that many people are afraid to talk about in their music. Alot of people were shocked at some of the things she sang about. -Songs like "Only God Can Heal" and "In Your Eyes" deals with the hurt she endured while trying to do the work God set for her to do. -Songs like "Your Praise" and "He said Go" deals with what she went through accepting Gods will for her to use her gift for Him. -And songs like "Jesus" and "My Best Friend" express triumph through her trials.We pray that her music touches every soul that listens and shows them a peace like no other.
