Well, so far I have been busy on my Urban productions with 5am and still have yet to finish the remix for Amillionsons. The two Rob E C tracks Heaven and Right Here Waiting For You are finished and will go on sale soon. I'll therefore be remixing the full version of Heaven shortly and replacing it with a lower quality sample.
I have recently joined up to a promotional record label, all in-exclusive mind you, so i'll still be looking to sign my work. The name of this place is called Aftershock Records at www.aftershockrecord.com
Some of my tracks will up here also to download as well as some other artists who I am going to be working with in the future.
A new Rob E C remix is planned for his current leading song Listen To Your Heart.
I will be adding a low quality version of the song Right Here Waiting For You in the near future.

Right Here Waiting finally got released a few months ago by Rob EC and can now be found in plenty of online music shops such as CD Baby. I think it ended up somewhere in the lower part of the main dance charts in the US. My remix is featured on the single. Heaven can also be found on CD Baby too.

I have finished and have been promoting a remix of Phil Collins - Another Day In Paradise along with a remix by Martyn Stonehouse. You can check out a sample on here.

I haven't done an awful lot really in the dance side but a lot in the urban side for 5am. I have put together a lot of new tracks and have just finished recording Skibadee along with two other artists on a funk track. It sounds unbelievable. I'll get a sample of that up on here when it is done along with more 5am material.

I'm currently setting up a label which i'll reveal more about in the coming weeks. The Phil Collins remix will be the opening release and will be in the form of Vinyl and CD. I'm not gonna mention the name of the site just yet.

Ive been very busy with more 5am material. We have just finished working on a few new track, possible future work with Kelle Le Roc. We have finished a wicked new commercial rnb pop style track with Shaka - I Don't Mind. I'll pop up a sample soon. We got a garage 4/4 track on the way and an oriental Urban thing going on as well as an indian style track hopefully to be worked on vocal wise by another new artist which will come into light in the future.

On the dance side, i've started working on an Electro house remix for Rob EC. The tracks I remixed already are now also available as digital download on I-Tunes.

Runaway may be getting signed fairly soon, again more info will be released in the future. Until there, keep up the support, keep clicking smile :)

Things have slowed a little on the production side due to myself moving out of Leicester and back to my home town in Bolton.

Listen To Your Heart Remix almost finished for Rob EC, i'll post up a sample in very soon, so keep your eyes and ears peeled.

The label is still under construction as the site is still underway. I'll reveal more later.

September will see me teaming up with a fellow radio presenter as we will be presenting Preston Uni Radio under the guise of Phat'n'Phunky. I'm Phunky.

Supafly have just released a bootleg remix of Phil Collins - Another Day In Paradise re-titled Moving To Fast. This comes suspiciously months after our promotion with martyns stonehouse remix & mine to many house DJ's around the UK. Still, you will see a vinyl release of our remixes and a third remix by another guy. I'll let you know.

Rob EC - Listen To Your Heart (Solstice Electrofix Remix Radio Edit) just added. This will be shortly released on Rob EC's next official single. Also featured will be the full Club length remix and the Dub remix. Keep your eyes and ears peeled.

Ive just started working on a collaboration Tech House track with a female producer under the name of Miss XS. This lil number will be finished in the next few weeks under the name Miss XS & D.J. Solstice - Tech Revolution.

Just to let you know. I have now created a second alias to use when associating with any house productions I do and get released in the future. This may mean Summer Dayz will change.
The new name will be "Hush Cat" following the soon to be release of my record label which is still in progess but will eventually be mentioned when it is finished.

I have just finished producing a remix for an X-Press 2 competition for their brand new release Kill100. I'll post a sample of this track on here very soon.

17-08-06

My new Soundclick page for Hush Cat is now up and running and with it you can hear my first track, the remix of Kill100 which is a progressive number. This was designed as a new alias for anything house I create under my own name. Have a look at the new page here at www.soundclick.com/hushcat and lemmi know what you think of the new production. This is the entry for the current X-Press 2 competition. Nothing has been heard from them yet. They are behind schedule so ive no idea whats gonna happen yet. Anyhow, enjoy the new site if you go there.

NEW NEWS

NEW ALTER ALIAS PAGE HAS JUST BEEN INCLUDED TO SOUNDCLICK, AS ALL NEW HOUSE PRODUCTION WILL BE UNDER THE NAME HUSH CAT. CHECK OUT MY NEW REMIX OF X-PRESS 2 - KILL 100

Hush Cat

Hi, my name is Scott Dacey and I go under the Pseudonym of Solstice and sometimes DJ Solstice although I prefer the former these days.

I am a producer of quite a wide range of styles, particularily in the electronic scene. I do trance, house all the way to urban music.

The music I produce under the name Solstice is mainly all my dance side of things. I am one of the main founders of 5am Productions (the other being Kemistry). We have been going for two years now, and aim to promote and produce all kinds of urban music ranging from dancehall to garage to rnb.

Here is a link to our 5am myspace site :-

www.myspace.com/5amproductions

I have been producing for about roughly seven years now, I aim to try and get my music out to as many people as I can and try to work with many more artists. I have had music played out by various big name DJ's such as Above and Beyond, Darren Briais, Judge Jules and more.

The aim for me, is to get into as many styles as I can, and continue to merge the elements together. Knowledge from one style helps you gain originality when producing another style.

Most of what you will find here for now is in the trance genre.

www.Aftershockrecords.co.uk

Come over to this site to see more on myself and other artists who are promoting their music through aftershock. Aftershockrecords is an online promotion site for artists who can become a part of Aftershock by winning a competition which is held regularly. The winners get their own page and can promote their own material. They aren't bound to any contract and are free to search for labels who are interested.
The idea of creating competitions to get people on the site allows us to include only artists who we think are good enough. We speak to labels regularly and get them to look into the site for their own benefit as well as the artists just incase they spot someone who they think is good enough to work with.
Have a look for youselves.
Why this name?
Solstice came from the day I was born on. 21st December. This is the day of the solstice. I also began production on the same day, 16 years on.
Do you play live?
Although I used to dj, ive concentrated much more on my production side now.
I do however play live percussion to house music, and also samba.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet definitely helps get your music spread to others. It is about making a name for yourself. IT may be a downside in the fact that people are ripping off others, but for me, it helps me see what is going on in the industry all the time, and helps me obtain tracks for reference when I need them. If I want music purely to listen to for enjoyment, I go out and buy the physical product. There is no substitute for the real copy.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
yes
Band History:
5am breif history.

Originally we were Blackmagic putting on our own nights and doing radio statins across the UK. We were known particularily in the midlands where the urban scene was better appreciated (as opposed to north were I happen to be from).

We eventally scrapped Blackmagic as it wasn't going to get far enough. Instead 5am was born and is still going strong now. We have done several live performances and a music video. We currently work on music constantly and are working with much bigger and better vocal artists. Our album is currently getting completed.

Your influences?
Many names, such as Tiesto, PVD, Mauro Picotto, Ferry Corsten.
Favorite spot?
London, it is a brilliant place for such diversity in musical tastes.
Equipment used:
I own a full studio, but use a lot of software, as I feel this has really come on over the past few years. My main production sequencer is Cubase SX, but I use many many more software accessories around this.
Anything else...?
Look out for 5am in the future, and also the video on Channel U. The song is Mi Nino Latino.
I hope you can liste to my music and also give me feedback. If you are a dj looking for new music, feel free to play it in your set. Please let me know how it went.
